A Start. And Three Important Questions

As I sit down to write this I am nervous. I have written countless introduction posts for who I am and what I do, but never has it been to represent myself as me and my career. But I feel that a blog here - letting you know what I have been up and what I am thinking - is a much needed thing when you don't have a publicity team or tabloids willing to share the news of your new puppy (I have a puppy?!?). So, to start, I am going to fall back on three of my favourite questions…
‘Who are you? What do you want? And why should I care?’
Whenever my phone goes off unexpectedly I always ask 'Who are you? What do you want? And why should I care?' It sounds anti-social and mean - don't get me wrong, I LOVE unexpected phone calls - but I feel they are valid questions to ask. Yes, even the 'why should I care' one. So without wasting any more words, I'm going to answer these questions of myself.
Who are you?
I'm Jemma. I have a degree in pretending to be someone else. I act. I write. I occasionally make things my Mom would be proud of, and I have an unhealthy obsession with Panic! At the Disco (CURRENTLY) and Jack White (ALWAYS). I love TV, dance and lollipops. Joss Whedon is my hero. Pandas and are my spirit animals. And the rest you’ll learn along the way.
What do I want?
An Oscar. To be an Avenger.
To live a life of love, good art, and fine company. Easy right?
Why should you care?
If you’ve gotten this far through this post I’m hoping that means you already care, even just a little. And I know that if you’ve read this far then I care about you. Also, if you need further convincing; I’m going to be an Avenger, and everyone cares about the Avengers - including Hawkeye. And I’ll occasionally post pictures of kittens.
This seems like a start, and will hopefully have sparked a curiosity that will drive you take a look at my work, and maybe even work with me. Or you’re just waiting for the pictures of kittens…
Soon, dear friend. Soon.
This blog is designed to give a forum for my thoughts and process, and what I’m up to in my own words. It’s not going to be formal, but hopefully will give you an insider’s look into how my mind works and who I am as an everyday person.
